1. Where did you first meet your hubby?
I met Kris at my friend Gabe's house one evening. It was actually after the wedding of two of my favorite friends, Kelly Click and David Thomas. Kellie Collins and I had gone over to Gabe's to hang out with a bunch of high school friends...
2. What do you remember most about him?
I remember he walked in the door and I thought, "Dang he is tall! And dang his arms are muscular! And dang his eyes are blue!" And then I thought, "Who the heck is this guy????!!!" I typically knew everyone who stopped by Gabe's house, so this stranger was very intriguing!
3. Who asked out who first?
Well after a night of flirting endlessly over a puzzle, neither one of us made the first move! He was/is extremely shy and I knew I was going to have to "man up" so to speak if I wanted to see him again! The next time I ran into him at Gabe's I got his cell number and the rest is history!
4. What did you do on your first date?
The first time we hung out by ourselves we went to Kris' house and talked, threw the football outside, ate some food, and just relaxed... It was very casual, which is good because he had just gotten out of a serious relationship and I didn't want to be the rebound girl.
5. What was your favorite thing to do together while dating?
We loved to go boating, eat, hang out with other friends, watch tv, and do anything outdoorsy- biking, basketball, football, etc...
6. When was your first kiss with your sweetheart?
I don't remember the exact date, but it was a few weeks after we met. I swear I kissed him first and he swears we met halfway! lol
7. Who said "I love you" first?
Kris did. I remember when he said it, he also said, "I don't want to freak you out, but I've been wanting to tell you this for a while now..." :-)
8. When did you first realized you loved him?
After I got sick one day and he was the first person I thought to call/wanted to be with. I knew then that I was in trouble!
9. How did he propose?
He told me he wanted to have a pumpkin carving contest and after trying desperately to find a pumpkin (they were all sold out in Morehead) we ended up buying some off of the people at Coffee Tree Books. When we got back to my place, we set up a partition, where we carved in secret. Then we had the big reveal on the back deck and he had carved a diamond ring and written the words, will you marry me! I must say, it was the most unique proposal ever and was just right for us!
10. What do you remember about your wedding?
I woke up late. We couldn't get my hair right. I wasn't really that nervous. The cake was BEAUTIFUL! All the nieces and nephews looked adorable. I sang to all the kids before we started just to get them to be quiet! Kris looked HOT! There were so many people they had to bring in more chairs! We didn't have a set routine, so much of it was improvised as we went. Kris and I laughed afterward because it was the fastest 2.5 hours of our life! I wish I could go back and relive it! I also wish I'd had it video taped!
