The Big Dance

Go Eagles! A whole group of the family had the opportunity to travel to Dayton, OH on Tuesday and cheer on the Morehead State Eagles in the opening round of the NCAA tournament! It was fabulous! We all were decked out in our blue and gold and Grandma made all the kids fancy shirts to wear (including Brody)!!! The place was packed, with the highest attendance ever for a play-in game! The best part was that we WON!!!! Unfortunately that means we play Louisville, ranked #1, tomorrow... However, we're all still very proud of our team and the fact that we're even in the tournament! Tickets for Friday's game were a bit too steep for my taste, so all the Eagle fans in the family are going to get together and watch it on the big screen at Kourtney's! Should be a blast!

Below is a picture of Brody in his MSU gear! Everyone at the game went nuts over our little man! And he was a champ! I fed him right when we got there and he hung out and was a peach the whole time! Just looked around, snoozed, and enjoyed his first basketball game! If we have anything to say about it, this kid will definitely be a basketball fan!

Porker

Brody is getting so big! It makes me quite sad. I look at his newborn pics and I can't remember him being so small :-(

At 5 weeks old, he is officially out of 0-3 months and will soon be in a size 2 diaper. Oh goodness! My sweet little thing is a porker...a snuggly, adorable, little porker! Here is a funny picture of him sportin' just his diaper!
Dang I love this kid!

We've established a pretty good routine and he is sleeping really well at night! He sleeps at least 3 hours at a time, and the other night, he snoozed on for 5 hours! Oh I woke up refreshed!

He was given a name and blessing on Sunday and Kris did a wonderful job! Every man in the building teared up! I was a proud mom and a very proud wife! My two studs!

We are going to Utah May 1st and I am so excited! My grandma isn't doing very well, so we like to go out as much as possible. I am so excited for both she and my Grandpa to meet Brody! I know they'll love him as much as we do! Must go now! It's bath time!

Sweetheart Tag

1. Where did you first meet your hubby?

I met Kris at my friend Gabe's house one evening. It was actually after the wedding of two of my favorite friends, Kelly Click and David Thomas. Kellie Collins and I had gone over to Gabe's to hang out with a bunch of high school friends...

2. What do you remember most about him?

I remember he walked in the door and I thought, "Dang he is tall! And dang his arms are muscular! And dang his eyes are blue!" And then I thought, "Who the heck is this guy????!!!" I typically knew everyone who stopped by Gabe's house, so this stranger was very intriguing!

3. Who asked out who first?

Well after a night of flirting endlessly over a puzzle, neither one of us made the first move! He was/is extremely shy and I knew I was going to have to "man up" so to speak if I wanted to see him again! The next time I ran into him at Gabe's I got his cell number and the rest is history!

4. What did you do on your first date?

The first time we hung out by ourselves we went to Kris' house and talked, threw the football outside, ate some food, and just relaxed... It was very casual, which is good because he had just gotten out of a serious relationship and I didn't want to be the rebound girl.

5. What was your favorite thing to do together while dating?

We loved to go boating, eat, hang out with other friends, watch tv, and do anything outdoorsy- biking, basketball, football, etc...

6. When was your first kiss with your sweetheart?

I don't remember the exact date, but it was a few weeks after we met. I swear I kissed him first and he swears we met halfway! lol

7. Who said "I love you" first?

Kris did. I remember when he said it, he also said, "I don't want to freak you out, but I've been wanting to tell you this for a while now..." :-)

8. When did you first realized you loved him?

After I got sick one day and he was the first person I thought to call/wanted to be with. I knew then that I was in trouble!

9. How did he propose?

He told me he wanted to have a pumpkin carving contest and after trying desperately to find a pumpkin (they were all sold out in Morehead) we ended up buying some off of the people at Coffee Tree Books. When we got back to my place, we set up a partition, where we carved in secret. Then we had the big reveal on the back deck and he had carved a diamond ring and written the words, will you marry me! I must say, it was the most unique proposal ever and was just right for us!

10. What do you remember about your wedding?

I woke up late. We couldn't get my hair right. I wasn't really that nervous. The cake was BEAUTIFUL! All the nieces and nephews looked adorable. I sang to all the kids before we started just to get them to be quiet! Kris looked HOT! There were so many people they had to bring in more chairs! We didn't have a set routine, so much of it was improvised as we went. Kris and I laughed afterward because it was the fastest 2.5 hours of our life! I wish I could go back and relive it! I also wish I'd had it video taped!

March Madness

I cannot believe how fast time flies! Brody will be 1 month old on Thursday and I must say, the past four weeks have flown by! He is getting much bigger! Let's just say he is a total chunk already! He is very alert for much of the day and is sleeping pretty well at night. I am adjusting to the change in my schedule and am learning how to feed and go! Kris is still smitten with the little guy and is doing a great job as Dad!

We bought a new car last Saturday! Something the whole family can ride in! My corolla wasn't working out very well. Because Kris and I are so tall, and the car seat is so big, my knees were literally touching the dash- not very safe! We traded Kris' old truck for a 2008 Ford Escape and I love it! It's big enough for the three of us plus some and we both have extra leg room! Yay!

I am not feeling so hot today and am pretty sure I'm coming down with something not so fun...YUCK! I am hoping it is just a 24 hour thing...

Must go...I need to rest while this kid is sleeping! Toodles!
