Sorry!!!!
To all my faithful blog readers (although I know there are just a few of you) I must apologize for my lack of blogging! Please accept this apology and understand that lack of internet makes it quite difficult to keep everyone updated!
So on Sept 2nd Kris and I moved into the house! It sounds glamorous and all, but trust me, it's been incredibly difficult at times. We just got the hardwood finished last week, we still don't have countertops, there is no kitchen sink, trim and paint still isn't completely done, and the dishwasher doesn't work. Let's just say there have been a lot of sandwiches made and a lot of cereal eaten this past month! On a positive note, I have to admit that I love it! It's soooo much roomier and I love the fact that I have room to move and breathe! Unfortunately we don't have internet, and I don't get over to my parents or sisters too often to steal it from them! Not only that, but I have been swamped with the house, work, and soccer.
I have soccer 5-6 days a week, this week having 4 games, which takes up the vast majority of my time. Kris has been working for the family company in Louisville, which means he is away all day and at times has to stay the night out of town (sob!). But the moolah is nice, a very good thing considering winter is coming and the building business tends to slow down at that time.
I celebrated my 26th birthday on the 6th of September and had a great day! I was scheduled to have a soccer game that morning, but due to the death of one of the parents of my players, the game we re-scheduled, so Kris and I headed to Lexington for a bit of shopping and dinner. Turns out the only thing I bought was Mr.Potato Head that pretty much rocks! The plan was to go to the Melting Pot and have a fabulous dinner...however it turns out that that place not only tastes horrible, but just about killed our food budget for an entire year. NOT WORTH IT! We both laughed that we should have stuck with Rafferty's (my fav. place to eat) and had a little Coldstone for our after dinner treat! Next year I'll know better than to venture outside the box! My birthday gift is a trip to Utah with my hubby, and I couldn't be more excited! We will be gone for a week and I am so thrilled to finally show Kris my stompin' ground for more than 4 years!
Last weekend we went to the UK football game with Aunt Viv and Uncle Owen and had a great time! They treated us like royalty and UK won, which is always a plus! BYU also kicked butt, making last Saturday a great day!
On a sadder note, my brother-in-law Jason has had it pretty rough this week. His only sister passed away on the 16th due to a long, hard fought battle with Huntingtons disease, and although we know she's in a better place, it doesn't make the loss any easier for him or her five children. His father also passed away from the disease, making the loss even tougher. He is a rock and I pray he will find some peace and comfort as time progresses. I LOVE YOU JASON!!!
Shew! So that is life in a nutshell! Family, friends, soccer, house, etc... I miss all my blog buddies but no worries, I'll try to be a bit more diligent with my posts! Hope all is well in your lives and for all of you out west, I look forward to seeing you very soon!
