Baby Bump

Please excuse the really ugly facial picture...I hadn't really gotten ready for the day...but regardless, here is a picture of the baby bump. Not much to show...but in the last 2 weeks it has really grown! I am a little over 6 months now and it seems as though everything but my "belly" is growing! lol! I'll post more as this kid gets bigger!

Crib Quilt and Bumper

I found a great deal at Pottery Barn Kids and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use my purchasing power! I had been looking everywhere for a crib set that I loved and hadn't seen anything that really caught my eye. I logged on to pbkids, knowing that everything on their site was about $100 out of my price range, but decided to take a peek just to be safe! I clicked on the clearance section and there it was...my dream crib set! Exactly what I'd wanted! Nothing too themey or big kiddish or cartoonish! It was simple, would go with the wall color, could be paired with a lot of different patterns, and I knew Mom could whip up some cute accessories to match! Plus, it was cheaper than the sets that you buy at Wal-Mart! Hooray! Another bonus...Kris actually liked it! Kourtney and I laughed because as I was debating whether or not to buy it, I felt the baby kick hard for the first time, which Kourt later claimed to be a sign! lol! Pictures of the bumper are below. One side is patchwork plaids and the other is blue with white stars. The quilt is at Mom's where some curtains, etc... are a work in progress!

Living Room

So this house is getting closer to being done a little more each day! The living room is missing only 1 piece of base board (which will be finished today) and then we have to hang the curtains and two more pictures and we're done! YAY! It feels and looks so nice to have it all snuggly...especially with the cold weather that has attacked Kentucky the past few days! The crown looks incredible (thanks Kris) and all of our random pieces of furniture are coming together quite nicely! Next we'll finish the dining room and then we can say that the central part of our home is done! Hooray! Here are two pics...one is kinda dark...Sorry!

House Update

Here are some updated pictures of our house! The yard has seed and straw down, the driveway is done, the trim and molding inside is getting closer each day and we're starting to unpack all of the boxes. The kitchen is all done now! HOORAY! And I've actually used it a few times in one week! Kris is shocked! So far so good! We're still trying to sort out where we want to put/hang everything...but we're getting there...slowly but surely!! See below! Zach came out one day to help with the trim work and would say, "Oh wow! Cool! Good job!" everytime Kris cut a piece of trim!

Flashback to the Nineties! Clueless anyone?

This post is for my best pal Kristen Porter. So Kris and I were shopping at Gateway Mall in Utah when I ran across the outfit pictured below. I just about wet myself when I saw it, because Cher wears the exact same one, except in yellow, in the movie Clueless! And anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE THAT MOVIE! Kristen and I used to watch it all the time when we were younger! In fact, I can quote almost the whole thing! I loved their clothes, their hair, everything! Unfortunately the picture doesn't show the mini skirt that well, but I can still picture it being worn with thigh highs and mary janes clogs! Classic! Kris just rolled his eyes when I forced him to take the picture...but he wouldn't really understand!!! Porter, this post is for you! AS IF!

Papaw Kappes for Mayor!

On Oct. 16th the whole fam got together to help Dad do a little campaigning at the annual Homecoming parade! Kris pulled the trailer that we loaded down with hay bales, mums, and grandkids. All the grandchildren wore shirts that said "Papaw Kappes for Mayor" on the front and then "Vote Kappes" on the back. They were ADORABLE! Hanna, Kristin, Cameron, and myself all rode along as well. We passed out candy as the kids screamed "VOTE FOR PAPAW"!!!!! It was a blast, despite the short thunderstorm and the kids loved it. This Saturday we are doing a campaign blitz in Morehead and are going to try and hit up every home! I really hope this works and that my Dad gets elected! I know he's do a terrific job! He always gives 100% and that is just what Morehead needs! Here are some pics of Blake and Kennedy wearing their shirts throughout the week to support Papaw!

Kris' Truck

It's a well known fact that Zachary loves Kris. He loves everything about him! He loves spending time with him, going to our house, playing with Kris, riding in Kris' truck, going on Kris' boat, etc... At night when he prays, he prays mostly for Kris and myself... "Bless Tally will come see me." "Bless Kris wuv me." "Bless Kris take me for a wide in his twuck." You get my drift...!

Well back in May Zachary got a big red truck for his birthday. It came with a construction worker man that had bulging biceps. At the time he didn't think much of it, but within a few weeks it had been labeled "Kris' truck" and it never left his side. If Zach gets in trouble, that is the first thing to go. When he plays, that his first choice. And it wouldn't be Kris' truck without Kris...that sexy construction worker that fits right inside!

Here is a picture of Zach with the infamous truck. As you can see, it's bit dirty and the doors are now missing, but this toy has provided hours of entertainment! Kourtney asked what she should get Zach for Christmas and I gave her the blank stare and then said, "Duh! Another 'Kris' truck' of course!"

Fall is in the air!

It's official! My favorite time of year has finally arrived and I am LOVING it! The weather is cool, about the low to mid sixties, their is a slight breeze, the trees are changing colors and all the mums and pumpkins look glorious! Fall makes me a happy, happy girl! Soccer is still in full swing, and although it would be more fun if I were actually playing, I'm enjoying it nonetheless! Less than a week until our wild trip out west and I'm trying to make sure all of our plans are complete. When we get back we have MSU Homecoming and the big parage where my dad will do quite a big of campaigning with all the grandkids in their shirts that say "Vote for my Papaw!" Now it's time to go home, clean up some more of the house and do a little painting! For all of you who don't know what fall looks like in Kentucky, I've included a picture! I hope you're all having a wonderful fall, no matter where you are!
